Once you’ve added pages to your website, SwellSpace allows you to customize your top navigation menu. By accessing the “Menu” on the left-hand side of the editor, you’ll be able to:
In the example illustrated below, the menu controls reflect three menu items other than the home page:
You will also notice that these three pages are also reflected in the top navigation in the same order from left to right.
SwellSpace allows you to reorder the top navigation by dragging the six dots next to each of the menu items. In the example below, the menu items have been reordered to:
Notice that the top navigation menu has been reordered to match.
Renaming the menu item on the top navigation menu and the corresponding page it represents can be done by clicking on the “Configure” gear icon next to the menu item you would like to rename. In this example illustrated below, we’ll be renaming the “Contact” menu item to “Contact Information.”
Once the “Configure” gear icon is clicked, you’ll be able to rename the menu item to “Contact Information. Notice that the URL has also been updated to match the menu and page name. Once renamed, don’t forget to click on “Save Link”.
By renaming the top navigation menu item, the page name corresponding to the menu item will also be updated. Notice that the page name has been renamed to “Contact Information” under the “Pages” menu on the left-hand side of the editor. See below.
SwellSpace also allows you to create a top navigation menu item that links to an external website page or URL. For example, if you would like your employees to be able to access your payroll platform from your SwellSpace website, you could add the menu item “Payroll” and link to your payroll platform.
Creating a top navigation menu item that links to an external page or URL can be done by clicking on “Add Link” under the menu on the left-hand side of the editor.
Once the “Add Link” button is clicked, SwellSpace will prompt you to provide the name of the top navigation menu item name you’d like to use and the URL to link to. In the example below, we are naming the menu item, “Payroll” and the link to land on a payroll login. Don’t forget to click on “Save Link”.
Adding a top navigation menu item that links to an external page or URL will be represented by a different icon than menu items that are linked to internal website pages. Notice the icons next to each of the menu items below.
